Happy 71st birthday to former Eastern League prospect Jon Matlack. He pitched in 2 games for the 1967 Williamsport Mets (0-1, 14.40 ERA)

He played 13 seasons in the majors with the New York Mets (1971-77) and Texas Rangers (1978-83). Matlack was the National League Rookie of Year in 1972 and a three time All-Star. 

After he retired as a player, he was a minor league pitching coach for several seasons.
