Former Eastern League prospect Hank Aguirre was born on this date in 1931. He pitched for the 1954 Reading Indians (14-8, 2.69 ERA).

Aguirre played in the majors for 16 seasons with the Cleveland Indians (1955-57), Detroit Tigers (1958-67), Los Angeles Dodgers (1968), and Chicago Cubs (1969-70).

He died of prostate cancer on September 5, 1994, at the age of 63.
