Happy Birthday to former Eastern League prospect Ben Oglivie, who was born on this date in 1949. He played in the Eastern League in 1970 for the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Oglivie played 16 seasons in the majors with the Boston Red Sox(1971-73), Detroit Tigers (1974-77), and Milwaukee Brewers (1978-86).  

After he retired as a player, he coached in the minor leagues for several years. Oglivie was elected to the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012.
