He played for the New York Yankees (1946, '48-'50), Chicago White Sox (1950-51), Boston Red Sox (1952-53), and Philadelphia Phillies (1954-55).
After he retired as a player, Niarhos managed for several minor league teams and was a coach for the Kansas City Athletics (1962-64).
Niarhos died on December 29, 2004, at the age of 84.
