Former Eastern League prospect and manager Bud Souchock was born on this date in 1919. He played for the Binghamton Triplets in 1941 and '42 and managed the team in 1957 and '58.

Souchock played for the New York Yankees (1946, '48), Chicago White Sox (1949), and Detroit Tigers (1951-55).

After he retired as a player, Souchock managed in the minors and scouted. He died on July 28, 2002, at the age of 83.
