Happy 65th birthday to former Eastern League prospect Len Barker. He pitched for the 1975 Pittsfield Rangers (7-12, 2.89 ERA).
Barker played in the majors for 11 seasons with the Texas Rangers (1976-78), Cleveland Indians (1979-83), Atlanta Braves (1983-85) and Milwaukee Brewers (1987). On May 15, 1981, he pitched the 10th perfect game in the history of Major League Baseball as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-0.
He is currently the head baseball coach at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio.
