Former Eastern League prospect Ed Roebuck was born on this date in 1931. He pitched for the Elmira Pioneers during the 1951 (0-8, 5.40 ERA) and '52 (14-11, 2.47 ERA) seasons.
Roebuck pitched in the major leagues for 11 seasons with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers (1955-58 and '60-'63), Washington Senators (1963-64), Philadelphia Phillies (1964-66).
After he retired as a player, Roebuck worked as a scout for several years. He died on June 14, 2018, at the age of 86.
