Former Eastern League prospect Bill Tuttle was born on this date in 1929. He played in 44 games for the 1952 Williamsport Tigers.
He played in the major leagues for the Detroit Tigers (1952, '54-'57), Kansas City Athletics (1958-61) and Minnesota Twins (1961-63).
After he retired as a player, Tuttle was the first baseball coach at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois. He died on July 27, 1998 at the age of 69.
