Former Eastern League prospect Al Kozar
was born on this date in 1921. He played for the Scranton Red Sox in
1942 and served in the United States Army during World War II (1942-45).
After the war, he returned to play for Scranton in 1946.
Kozar played in the majors during three seasons for the Washington Senators (1948-50) and Chicago White Sox (1950).
