Colavito went on to a 14 year major league career with the Cleveland Indians (1955-59, '65-'67), Detroit Tigers (1960-63), Kansas City Athletics (1964), Chicago White Sox (1967), Los Angeles Dodgers (1968), and New York Yankees (1968).
He was a 6-time American League All-Star, finishing his major league career with 374 homes runs. After his playing career, he was a broadcaster for the Cleveland Indians, and coached for the Indians and Kansas City Royals.
