Former Eastern League prospect Duke Sims was born on this date in 1941. He played for Charleston Indians during two seasons (1962-63).
Sims went on to play in the major leagues for 11 seasons with the Cleveland Indians (1964-1970), Los Angeles Dodgers (1971-72), Detroit Tigers (1972-73), New York Yankees (1973-74) and Texas Rangers (1974).
