Former Eastern League prospect and manager, John Kennedy was born on this date in 1941.

He played for the 1963 York White Roses and managed the Bristol Red Sox (1976-77) & Jersey City A's (1978).

Kennedy played 12 seasons in the major leagues for the Washington Senators (1962-64), Los Angeles Dodgers (1965-66), New York Yankees (1967), Seattle Pilots (1969), Milwaukee Brewers (1970), and Boston Red Sox (1970-74).

He died on August 9, 2018, at the age of 77.
