Happy 79th birthday to former Eastern League prospect Ray Culp. He played for the Williamsport Grays in 1961 and '62.
Culp pitched in the majors for 11 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies (1963-66), Chicago Cubs (1967) and Boston Red Sox (1968-73). He finished his major league career with a 122-101 record and an ERA of 3.58.
After his baseball career, Culp became successful in real estate in Austin, Texas.
