Steve "Bud" Souchock of the Binghamton Triplets won the 1942 Eastern League batting championship according to official averages released on January 10, 1943.

Souchock played for Binghamton in the Eastern League during the 1941 and '42 seasons. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to '45, Souchock played in the majors during eight seasons for the New York Yankees (1946, '48), Chicago White Sox (1949) and Detroit Tigers (1951-55).
