Former Eastern League prospect Walt Kellner was born on this date in 1929. He played for the 1953 Williamsport A's and 1956 Reading Indians.
He pitched in a total of 3 games for the Philadelphia Athletics during the 1952 and 1953 seasons.
His father, John "Pop" Kellner, brother Alex, and son Frank, all played professional baseball.
Kellner died on June 19, 2006, at the age of 77.
