On this date in Eastern League History: February 6, 1983

Former Eastern League prospect Richie Ashburn loves the game of baseball. Ashburn played for the Utica Blue Sox in 1945 and '47. He went on to a 15 year career in the major leagues and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995.
